A world being built in the open
The Turning Lands
We’re building a world — its stories, its games, its maps and monsters, and we’re doing it slowly, out loud, and a chapter at a time. No finished product to sell you yet; just a road being laid, and room on it for a Dweller who wants to watch a world come together from the first stone.
We're making something,
slowly and on purpose.
The story of the Turning Lands is told one chapter and a game at a time. We refuse to start mailing it until it’s done. So, we’re building the whole first season — A Crooked Name.
Slower than we’d like. More real than a rush.
Until then, the door’s open even though the shop is not. Read the stories as we write them, watch the map fill in one road at a time, see the art before it’s finished, and be the first through the gate when the road opens.
“Shout your summer, whisper your fall — come the long night, nothing at all.”
Pie Row
Pie Row is where the city of Turnfair keeps its ovens, its woodsmoke, its hot butter, and its thickest fog — the last of which suits Wren fine, who has never bought a pie she could carry off. Her accomplice is Trill, a cat with a gift of turning up under a baker’s boot at the worst possible moment.
For the baker, anyway.
What you get for signing on as a Dweller
Becoming a Dweller costs nothing and puts you first in line for everything.
Here’s what turns up along the way.
Dispatches from the Road
Regular notes on the world as it’s built — a place, a name, another piece of the map, or a personal look at what’s on the workbench that week.
Tales from the Turning Lands
Short stories, free to read — and free to hear, read aloud and preformed by Andrea.
The Sketchbook
Concept art and rough drawings as they arrive, long before the finished pieces are printed.
First Through the Gate
When the Dweller’s Post opens its shop for Season One orders, you’re in before anyone else — with a 10% discount.
Become a Dweller
Free and first in line. Just your email and the name you go by — we’d never ask for your true one.
Who is doing this?
Micah
writes the words & builds the games
Storyteller, game designer, and up too late most nights fitting words together. he’s spent years in the boardgame hobby, once ran a fairytale podcast, and has wanted to build a world like this one for as long as he can remember. Now he’s doing it, with his favorite person (Andrea), one chapter at a time.
Andrea
builds the games & makes it beautiful
The artist and maker of the pair. She draws the Turning Lands into being, gives the tales a voice by reading them aloud, and turns paper, ink, and odd bits of string into things worth keeping. If it’s lovely to look at, smell, or hold, it came from her hands.
We’re a two person outfit called Dweller’s Post. We’ve made small things before. The Turning Lands is the big one — and you’re early, which is the best time to arrive.
